Progress Post

This is a check-in for the MySpace campaign I'm currently running. The list is still building, the hits are still coming. Testing is being done on the nature and approach to the "ads" that will lead people to your site. Getting targeted traffic on a network like MySpace is a slightly different ballgame due to the nature of the community created by the site.

The Blog will be updated as things are tried and tested to see what works and what doesn't.

MySpace and Trains

The best and obvious part of MySpace is your Friends list and Bulletins. With a large friend list you can reach 100s and even 1000s of people. MySpace does have "Trains" which you can join to get a Friends list growing fast, but manually submitting them all the time and for how often they go out can be a full time job in itself. I don't know about you, but I don't have time to submit my name to a 24 different MySpace Trains every 3 minutes, when they roll out. Luckily, software is available to make this easier.

It's not impossible. I'm gonna lie either, it takes A LOT of work. What I can offer you is a place to start. You'd be surprised how much you already know about this just from your own online surfing. From visiting websites, the big ones and the small personal homepages of people, the general idea of making a site successful has always been right there in front of you.
To see how they're doing it, get this FREE ebook to understand how sites rise to the top in searches. It's better for business to be on top :)

SEO Made Easy

That's only part of it though. Not all high searched websites are making money. They've got the promotional side down, but don't realize the next step, which is turning those hits into money. There's many different sides you can get into, some easier than others. Affiliate Marketing, Ebay, selling your own stuff. Depends on where you want to go with it. Each one is slighly different in nature.

Visit Our Ebook section to see specific books on particular interests you might have. Remember, it's difficult, but not impossible to make money online. It takes work, but anyone can do it.

More On MySpace

Testing is continuing using MySpace. The real time nature of bulletins and Blog really makes for quick results. For the best effect I need more friends on my friends list and a wider variety of people. A very strong thing to do is join Groups. That, combined with your normal page can get hits to your MySpace account and in turn to your website.

You still need an effective landing page once they get to your site, or they may just leave. I again suggest Free things to giveaway using viral promotion within them to get traffic to your site. Make good use of the Blog as well. Building a good rep in the community can only be good for business.

MySpace and Business

I've recently got into using MySpace for both of my websites. Never have I see something as quick as resembling an opt-in list been possible to my knowledge. I'm still currently testing and working out bulletins and "ads" types of things there. One of the best parts about it is the real-time ability to test your ads. Maybe not Adwords style ads, but of the very conversational approach.

Viral Marketing is VERY possible through MySpace among other things. Viral would probably work as one of the best ways to do it if attached to a free product. Adsense sites can also flourish on MySpace. The trick is just getting a long list of friends. How to do that, is something I'll reveal later ;)

The Benefits of SEO

SEO stand for Search Engine Optimization. It's a fancy term that means a website is user friendly to search engines bots. When you use SEO on a site you fix the site's meta tags, title, discription, and even the body of the index page, among other things to give the bots the best possible idea what your page is about and how relevant the content is to everything else on the page.

Most search engines have a submission form making it easy to get you listed from a few days to a week and often a site with SEO techniques on it won't matter at all for them. You won't be at the top of the rankings, but that's the price you'll pay for doing it for free and with a 2nd tier or lower search engine. Even Yahoo has submission forms, and now multiple of them depending on the purpose of the site. Google however, has surpassed Yahoo in usage, making it the current #1 search engine in the world, so it's really them you want to be listed in.

Google's search engine bot is automated. There are no more manual submissions put into the Google index anymore. It's been said using their submission form could take a week to years to getting listed to not even at all. It's bot crawls the internet looking for websites to index according to their relevancy. As it combs through your pages it looks for words that tell it how your site should be indexed and if the words it finds really are what your page is about. InBound and OutBound links need to be relevant to your page as well. If your site is not relevant, or not relevant enough, it may move on and not list you at all. So, basically, Google is at the top of the mountain and you want your site Google bot friendly.

On my first site, I thought I had done this correctly, but to this day it's not listed in Google. After having some inspiration for anotehr website I openned a new page. I was picky with sites linking back to me and careful keeping each page slightly different in subject matter, but just enough to hit other keywords the Google bot may like when seeing if it was relevant. It was already preset with SEO as a habit so when the bot came along, everything it found through the SEO, it would find onsite. Sure enough, I was listed very, very quickly. Especially when you compare it to the zero listings of my first site in a much longer period of time.

Amazing. When you do it right, everything clicks and makes sense. The bots find you, traffic keeps coming in, and you're happy.

I have ebooks that can help narrow these ideas down and better show you exactly what to do if this is a problem you're having, at my site at http://www.creative-enterprises.net. Getting found is one step of many to making online. If noone knows where you are, you may as well set up shop in Death Valley, because you're about as easy to find there. :-P The internet's a big place, sometimes they need a little help finding you.
